At Krupkin, we are passionate about bringing the authentic flavors of Poland to our customers. Our founder, Maria, grew up in a small village in Poland and learned to cook from her mother and grandmother. She brought her love of Polish cuisine to the United States and opened Krupkin in 2005.


The truth of the matter is that my grandmother fled Poland into Germany (1920s).  There she got married and gave birth to my mother in 1936 during the rise of Nazi rule.  In 1939 they fled Leipzig, Germany to Holland two weeks before the Nazi army stopped all westward rail traffic for civilians.  Then she got on the second to last boat in Amsterdam going to America (The Weindam [sp]) before the port fell under Nazi rule days later.  She and her family settled in Rochester NY where she worked as a seamstress and business manager.  She died from complications of diabetes at the age of 69.

The filling is from Quiescently raised wild English, #1 pedigreed Pig Hearts, mixed in a remoulade of hog fat, pear and chestnut.  It is then lovingly wrapped in a gluten free ravlioniana. Left to rest for 5 hours, then boiled in water blessed by the local papal administradae thrice monthly and salted to perfection with sea salt specifically gathered by magical fairies living just outside Waldport Oregon.  And just before they arrive at your table a manifestation of the 165th Her Holiness the Dalai Lama farts on them with heartfelt conceptualizations and great warmth of spirit.  As a final delicate touch we garnish to taste with pickled garlic roasted in hazelnut oil.
